Hello.
So how do you like to be called by your boyfriend-girlfriend? And also what you don't like to be called?
I like darlin, love, sweet heart but i don't like baby lol.
So what about you?

Post 2 by Grace (I've now got the ggold prolific poster award! wahoo! well done to me!) on Thursday, 15-Mar-2007 21:07:01

Greetings Nikos,
Back in the day when my husband was my boyfriend we would call each other all the traditional like affectionate names like "dearest" and "sweetheart".. on occasion he would call me "Boss" and G'g'r'rowls at that one could be heard coming from me.
Through the years of marriage the names have gotten creatively goofy like snarky and snarks and snuffy.
Every once in awhile he slips in that four letter word, "Boss." and he still hears the G'g'r'r'rowls from me on that one (It was a hangover name he heard my Dad call me at times when I was at home).

Honey is okay, and so is sweetheart or sweetie. I tend to use sweetie. I'm not crazy about darling, but darlin' without the g on the end is kind of cute. I have found that men in the southern states use this term a lot even for women they don't know. It might seem sexist to some people, but I've always liked it. Baby is okay but only in private. I don't want a boyfriend calling me baby in public.

I like it when I've been with one guy long enough that we have some pet names for each other that we only use in private.

I dunno, I'm not keen on darling, with or without the g.
I use hun and sweety and sweetheart alot, and those are ok.
Haha, reccon my favorite pet name ever is one I currently have been given.
Honey bee.
*smiles.
and I can deal with babe, and baby is indearing at times but it's kind of meh to baby.

I have a more orignial nickname Shag monster. As I have a love of the macabre and I'm a damned good shag.

I love babe or hun. I also like the terms sweetie or darlin'. Sometimes just for grins though to make someone mad I'll call them sugarpie, lol.

Post 7 by DancingAfterDark (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 16-Mar-2007 9:44:11

I don't mind sweetie or sweetheart, and I'm especially fond of love and darling/darlin', either way. Meh to honey, hon, et cetera, and baby is okay, but not my favorite. I think it's cute when couples come up with special names of their own for one another. Like honey bee, for instance. Lol Cala, that's adorable.

actually, a own nick name most favourable to me, example: actual name is susanne, and nick name given by beloved, sun.
Also hon, love etc are nice.

Hey, this is a great topic. My girlfriend always makes up stupid names. They include luscious lips sugar foot, and more. THey get on my last nerve but I personally like sweetie, baby is ok, and honey.

Post 10 by Preciosa (The precious one and her littledog too.) on Wednesday, 21-Mar-2007 21:55:35

My fiance and I use baby the most but other than that, we don't use many traditional names. Some of the things he calls me are beautiful, sexy, etc.; i call him the male equivalents like handsome and such. we also have unique names for each other like i call him Jewels and he calls me Preciosa.

Post 11 by Preciosa (The precious one and her littledog too.) on Wednesday, 21-Mar-2007 21:58:36

p. s. i think it's weird when people call their significant other mommy/daddy.

I like baby and sweety but sweetheart needs to go. My GF also calls me shikki. don't know why though.

Post 13 by maroon five (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Wednesday, 28-Mar-2007 7:32:08

babe, hon, honey, princess, baby, beautiful, sexy, are all good, and I'll respond to any of thoes. I still like the guy to be creative, but not to weird though. Not to fussed on sweety, sweet heart, darlin or darling though...sounds like something my mum says to my dad. lol

Post 14 by Liz (The Original) on Thursday, 29-Mar-2007 11:23:09

Sweetie is nice, and dear can be kind of cute, too, in my opinion. Sexy is definitely up there, too. Baby is okay, although not in public, as others have said. Babe is...I don't know...when I hear babe, I think of a surfer dude and his girfriend. lol, I don't know. I'm not the most creative at coming up with cute names, though, which is slightly sad.

Post 15 by maroon five (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 30-Mar-2007 6:14:07

Oh and one I never want to here again! angel. Dear sounds like your about to read a letter, not a term of indearment.

Post 18 by Twinklestar09 (I've now got the bronze prolific poster award! now going for the silver award!) on Thursday, 12-Apr-2007 23:28:34

I'm not with anyone but will post here on would I would and wouldn't like to be called anyway. *smile* I think love, princess, sweetie, and sweetheart are nice. Not into the words babe, baby, or any mom-type words. And dear and honey sound alright once in awhile.

Post 19 by DancingAfterDark (I just keep on posting!) on Friday, 13-Apr-2007 0:01:35

Having reread this topic and seen my previous post, I just figured I'd add that darling only sounds good with certain accents. Lol.

Post 20 by fiveberry (Generic Zoner) on Friday, 13-Apr-2007 17:49:11

I like being called Jude, Judi, or something like that, but I hate being called baby 'cause it makes me smaller and younger than I am. But I'd also like to be called honey, sweety or something like that.

Post 26 by soaring eagle (flying high again!) on Tuesday, 17-Jul-2007 9:20:06

I don't mind being called hun or darlin' Or love. Baby no thanks. I usually call my girls darlin sweet heart or if I am lucky that a relationship develops, I usually find a name for her. Like my last girlfriend I called her princess because she had long hair and treated me good.

Hi,
I like being called sweetheart, dear, deary, baby, and love/lovy, but those last two have to be said with a british or similar accent to work for me. I love it when Herbie talks with a british accent. His mom is "British. His dad is black, so he can do a black accent too. I don't mind his black accent that he does sometimes, but I don't like it if he calls me sugar or sugar pie with his black accent. That's not one he does normally though, but I still don't like it. I don't mind Hun, but I've never liked honey at all. When Herbie's said it or anyone else. Maybe it's partially because my dad used to call me that every once in a while when I was a kid, when he was in an ok mood, so it just makes me feel like a kid, whenever it's said to me.
For him, to me, Herbie's always been a really sweet guy. In our first relationship, he was just sweetie to me. Then, I just started calling him sweetie pie. I've always thought Furby's were really cute and still do. He reminds me of one sometimes just with how cute he can be, so I call him Furby, but that's one that other people have called him too. Although he claims I am the only person who has ever said it so that he likes it. One day, when Herbie and I first moved to Minnesota,he was laying on my bed. I have this really soft velvety blanket that I use in the winter that's very warm. He looked so cuddly in that blanket and what immediately sprang to my mind was that he looked like a Popple. If you've ever seen the cartoon, or seen a stuffed toy of a popple, you'll know what I'm talking about. It was a show in the 80's. The little popples could push themselves in to a little ball on their backs that was like a pouch. They were really cute. Anyway, Herbie looked almost like one with his head tucked inside my velvety blanket and his hands all soft and fuzzy. I started calling him Popple after that. Then, I thought of putting Furby and Popple together, so he's now my Fopple. And that has stuck. At first, I really don't think he liked it, but he's gotten used to it now and does like it.
That's the story of my pet names for him. Herbie will hopefully add to this his pet names for me.
Dawnielle

That's cute. It really is. My bf calls me his little biatch, but that's only when we mess around. Popple? That's awesome.
